[UPDATE] installing new locale problem

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

I checked different x applications on the host. They throw different
errormessages:

xclock:
"Warning: Missing Charsets in String to FontSet conversion"

xterm:
"missing font: ISO8859-8 for window"
(And some other fonts. All are hebrew, arabic, indic, etc. We don't use
them at all)

gnome-text-editor:
none!

gnome-terminal:
none!

So it seems, like our partner ips suggested, that applications get
installed with support for some locales and not all of them can switch
afterwards.

I unconfigured the zone and installed it again with en_US.UTF-8 as
default encoding, but this had no effect.

Is it possible, that these errors and warnings just accord to some
applications and our own X- Apps wouldn't be affected at all?

Remember: There is no problem with any of the mentioned applications
xclock, xterm, etc. only the warning messages give us some stress.

Below is my first mailing for reference
############ORIGINAL MAIL############

Hi,

I have to set the locale on a non-global zone from C to en_US.UTF-8.

I used "localeadm -a nam -d [path to solaris 10 DVD]" on the global zone
to install it and set the appropriate Variables within /etc/.cshrc :

fodoktest /# locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8

Nevertheless, everytime our dba opens a some XWindow tunneld through
ssh, he gets the following errormessage:

"Warning: Missing Charsets in String to FontSet conversion"

The windows opens, but since we are hunting for problems within all of
the Solaris 10 installation, the Oracle database to get a stable
platform for debugging an application, we have to get rid of any
potential error.

Please, could you help me?

Regards,
Thomas
