T2000 automated deployment questions

Doing some mass T2000 deployments and any tips would be appreciated.
Is there any trick so that when you netboot and do raidctl to mirror
the rootvol that it would auto-sync?
Currently you do 'raidctl -c <primary> <secondary>' and wait almost
4hrs before you can label the vol and then jump the box.
Has anyone figured a clever way to mirror the rootvol in an automated
way so jumpstart could be a single step to login prompt?
The T2000's we have been shipped have to be firmware upgraded for the
sc in order to wan boot. They panic and fail otherwise, seemingly
from the ethernet driver. The firmware upgrade procedure requires the
image to be ftp'd via the net mgt interface only...or so I've figured
so far.
Has anyone figured a clever way to automate a mass firmware upgrade?
The best I can figure is a medusa of a Cyclades, a switch and an
expect script to punch through the Cyclades and step through all the
resetsc/setupsc etc. nonsense.
These have been *very* tedious servers to get OS'd en-masse.
