Sound Cards in SF 240

Hello Bob,

Why three? I put a SoundBlaster card in my v250 and it worked w/o any
configuration.

Exactly what Sound Blaster was this? We have tried

 Sound Blaster Audigy SE
 Terratec Aureon 5.1 PCI
NoName with C-Media 8738 chipset (works in a Ultra 20 with Solaris 10
x86)

We got none of these cards to work in the 240 (SPARC)!? :-(

The Sound Blaster Audigy SE card is recognized by Solaris as a Sound
Blaster Audigy LS. However, we don't get reasonable sound output. It
just knacks in the speaker. The Terratec is not recognized at all. The
same for the NoName card that works in the Ultra 20.

We have installed OpenSound. From the mailing lists it seems that
Solaris x86 and Soalris SPARC behave differently with regard to sound.
We need a solution for SPARC.

Any ideas? We urgently need three line-ins and three line-outs for a SF
240 with Solaris 10 06/06 whatever it costs!!!

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Andreas
