Greetings,
Is there a way to relate a MAC address to a device path without taking the system down? I am trying to configure in one of the ce devices on a unit which is several miles away and I want to be sure the interface is in either IB6 or IB8.
Unit is Sun 6800. This is what I have done so far.
cat path_to_inst | grep ce
this gave me the ssm device path
"ssm@0,0/pci@1b,600000/pci@1/network@0" 0 "ce"
"ssm@0,0/pci@1b,600000/pci@1/network@1" 1 "ce"
"ssm@0,0/pci@1d,600000/pci@1/network@0" 2 "ce"
Determine the boat and slot
"ssm@0,0/pci@1b,600000/pci@1/network@0" 0 "ce" IB7
"ssm@0,0/pci@1b,600000/pci@1/network@1" 1 "ce" IB7
"ssm@0,0/pci@1d,600000/pci@1/network@0" 2 "ce" IB8 slot 7 (I think this the ce2 inteface)
The ce interface to configure needs to be from IB6 or IB8
The ce2 interface was configured but not in 'UP" status and the MAC address determined.
