Sunmanagers,
I'm working on a problem that is very unusual. Our systems are
locked down under contract and are only patched after careful
review on an annual basis.
Sun 280R running Solaris 9 connected to two A1000's using RM6
with individual drives and mirrored with Veritas 3.x. As part
of routine service, a 'vxdmpadm -f disable ctlr=c3' command is
issued to offline one A1000 for maintenance. These procedures
have been in use for at least 4 years and are now failing.
The error generated is: "Error: Operation not supported for
disk arrays which are under control of third party mulipathing
drivers".
I have not been able to find any references on how to isolate the
offending driver module which is causing this error. We are
at a loss to explain this behavior on a system that has not
been changed and is not on a local LAN.
Any guidance would be appreciated, summary to follow.
-Richard.
