gcc installation

Hi Managers;

I try to install GCC which ic required for the configuration of sendmail.
But during the installation I receive an error like the following:

bash-2.03# ./configure
Configuring for a sparc-sun-solaris2.8 host.
Created "Makefile" in /tmp/gcc-3.3.2 using "mh-frag"
/usr/ucb/cc: language optional software package not installed
*** The command 'cc -o conftest -g conftest.c' failed.
*** You must set the environment variable CC to a working compiler.

I set the PATH to /usr/ucb and in addition I used the command ln -s
/opt/SUNWspro/bin/acc /usr/ccs/bin/ucbcc . But still I receive te same
error.
