server hangs or stops showing messages while doing configuring /dev and /device

Gurus,

I need your help. I am rebooting our netbackup server
but it stops showing any messages after the line
"jnic1: Target0: Lun5 present." and wont boot up even
to single user mode.

VxVM INFO V-5-2-3247 starting special volumes (
swapvol rootvol var )...
Configuring /dev and /devices.
jnic1: Target0: Lun1 present.
jnic1: Target0: Lun2 present.
jnic1: Target0: Lun3 present.
jnic1: Target0: Lun4 present.
jnic1: Target0: Lun5 present.

From our console logs, from the last month's reboot of
the server, the next messages after this line should
be:

Veritas SCSA Revision: 3.5b
Configuring the /dev directory (compatibility devices)

Do you have idea why it is hanging in this point?
