Telnet timing out on WAN link

Hi gurus,

I am experiencing time out problems between SUNmachines  over a WAN link. Within LAN there are no issues at all. Network team is recommending to change the time out value but wondering how come it is only happening with sessions over WAN link.Any clue?

In any case if I have to change telnet time out value in solaris where  I can chage? Is it using ndd ? Can ndd change only telnet time out parameter or it does globally?
