cannot login the correct root password in the multi-user mode

Hi All,

I have a sun box. It is solaris 9. I am able to login the system via root
password in the single-user mode. However, I am not able to login to the
system in the multi-user mode via the correct password. It is so weird. I have
changed the root password in the single-user mode. With the new one, I am not
able to login that password. What should I need to check?

Regards,
