Hi all,
Our nsswitch.conf file contains files dns for hosts database. According to
that line, when I ping any host with hostname, it looks up files and after
dns. However, if I ping the host via IP not via hostname. It also uses the
nsswitch.conf's lookup-order. If there is no entry on both, it is pinging as
IP. So, is there any way to get rid of nsswitch.conf lookups, if I ping the
hosts via IP. The disadvantage of that, the ping request are coming from in
60ms. Due to that, some monitors tools see the systems in down state. We would
like to overcome that situation.
Regards,
Asiye Yigit
