Scan Solution for Solaris

Dear managers,
we are looking for an efficient document scan solution for Sun Solaris,
namely a Network-Scanner that automatically generates a (Multipage-)PDF
from the scanned sheets and either stores them into an NFS-folder on a
specified NFS-Server (LAN) or sends the PDF via SMTP to a given
email-address.
After googling for a few hours without much success I am a bit
frustrated. I don't want these fancy windows software that does
whatever cute conversion or document management. I just want to get
sheets scanned to PDF (ideally searchable) and my hands on these
documents on the Solaris server as easy as possible (windows free
office). Any recommendations?
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Andreas
