Specs for X2200

Hi Sunmanagers,
Recently we ordered for dozen X2200s with 2 dual core model 2210 with 2gb
ram for each box. The specs for the nodes were discussed very much in detail
with our account rep at Sun. After we placed the order, and just before the
delivery we are told that Sun will support a 2 dual core system with a
minimum of 4 gb or RAM. We are being told to either buy the additional RAM
or live with one CPU inactive. This is so shocking!! Can we believe these
guys? I had a look into Sun site and under the Technical specs of the X2200
and against Supported Max Memory Configuration it reads:
"Up to 64 GB memory supported. System configurations from 1 GB up to 64 GB.
For optimal performance, install DIMMS in pairs"
Am I right in assuming from the above statement that we can have 2GB per box
if we have a pair of 1GB sticks? Does any one out there have such a working
configuration? Is the account rep right about it? We feel we were misled and
desperately looking for a way out other that going for the additional
purchase. Looking forward to your views.
