pkginfo db recovery

Hi All,
After applying several patch on Sun OS 10 6/06 system failure re-sync
up the broke mirror got corrupted my /var filesystem pkg db located at
/var/sadm/pkg
when i type pkginfo -l and pkginfo following error, due to that i
can't add or remove any sun packages which use pkg* commands,
# pkginfo -l
pkginfo: ERROR: bad entry read in contents file
pathname: Unknown
problem: unknown ftype
#pkginfo
ALE SUNWcacx Simplified Chinese
AccessX client program
ALE SUNWcadis Simplified Chinese install software
ALE SUNWcadma Simplified Chinese System
administration applications
pkginfo: ERROR: pkginfo file is corrupt or missing
is it possible to rebuild the DB ? I don't have a backup of the /var
currently ..
