To down a NIC in a ZONE

Fellows

How can I DOWN an instance (virtual NIC) in a zone?
I am on a Solaris 10 platform.

Example: I issued the (ifconfig) command below

# ifconfig bge0:1 down
ifconfig: setifflags: SIOCSLIFFLAGS: bge0:1: permission denied

I get the message "permission denied" as indicated above.

Any idea on how to down the NIC?

Cheers
