Sun Cluster file system

Hi,
Simple question; can a Sun Cluster file system survive one of the nodes
failing? I have set up a two node cluster as per
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2970/gbwad?a=view and it all looks
to work OK with both nodes seeing a shared fibre disk.
However, when one of the nodes is shut down the other node can no
longer see the disk, which I would have thought defeats the object of a
cluster file system, or am I missing something? The "up" node kick out
an I/O error if you (for example) do a df -k.
Thanks in advance for any comments or advice. I am running solaris 10 on
a pair of T1000's.
