V440 tip Connection

I have 2 V440's connected via the blue sun cable (roll over) to the serial
managemnet ports.

I am getting the following:

tip hardwire
tip: can't create files in lock file directory /var/spool/locks
all ports busy
$

Does anyone have an idea as to what it could be? Would JASS do something to
remobve this feature?
