Problems adding a second A1000

I am running out of disc space rapidly.

I decided to add a extra A1000 to my current Solaris E420 running
Solaris 2.6 server.

Did the following;
Powered off the A1000 added one disc in the far left slot
Plugged in the cable to the e420 and powered on the A1000
Ran the command /etc/raid/bin/hot_add
Then the commands disks devlinks and crvconfig
chmod 440 /etc/path_to_inst
Finally I ran /etc/raid/bin/rm6 and got the GUI
I found the new raid device and its 3 73gb discs. I made one mirror and
it began formating.

The next morning I logged in and tried to create the Hot Spare in the
GUI but when I run RM6 the GUI tells me that there is only the single
controler the other had disapearded but .... If I run the format command
the RAID device and discs are visible here is some out put.

Disc 10 is the new raid array and device that I have set up. But I still
need to set the hotspare. Discs 6-9 are a multipack that I used as a
too-long temporary stop gap measure that I am trying to migrate off of.
Finally Discs 2-5 are the initial RAID array that was set up.

I am at a loss to why I can not see the RAID array and have searched
/var/adm/messages /var/log/* for anything about to the raid.

Finally I tried to the commands I used earlier to see if I could get the
RAID to appear in the GUI again, when I did it I received these errors,
but they have been my only clue that there is a problem and I cant seem
to find any information about the errors in the system logs or on google.

root@fox:~# /etc/raid/bin/hot_add
^C
^C
Array Hot Add error: Unable to build the RDAC Driver rdriver.conf file
/tmp/mutex.hot_add: No such file or directory

I exited after waiting almost 15 minutes for the command to complete.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Erin
