Performance Problem
Dear managers,
we have a V490 in a 100MBit network with a 2-3 dozen Macs and Sun Rays
connected (NFS, NIS, database). 50% of the client machines are located
in a second building connected via a 1GBit line (100MBit to 1GBit
Router/Switch on both sides).
Users complained about very bad performance today, especially on the
Macs. I checked the processes on the server with prstat and mpstat. The
machine runs 88% idle. I therefore guess this is rather a network than
a server problem. Any idea how I can track this down? Which Solaris
tools could I use to see whether the network has reached its limit. The
switches are unmanaged. Is that possible at all then?
Hints are greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot,
Andreas
