Extended character support with serial connections to x86 servers

Hi,
I've used serial console connections to install Solaris systems for a
while, and my current setup is a Linux desktop machine either directly
connected to a server or connected via a Cyclades ACS console server.
The serial connection works fine, but various bits of the system BIOS
and the Solaris installer (the partitioning screen particularly) make
use of line drawing characters, and colours for some screens. These are
normally just about navigable, but I'd really like to find the
appropriate combination of terminal settings to make them actually work
as intended. I've spent some time already messing around with options to
minicom on the Linux client and with TERM settings and similar to try
and get these to work, but so far with little success.
Can anyone help with the appropriate settings to get this to work
correctly? Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
