vxconfigd down/up issue

Hello Gurus,

In our environment, we have problem with vxconfigd daemon, It keeps on
toggling up & down atleast 2 - 3 times in a day. Not sure the exactly
timing and why it goes up or down.

1. More over I am interested in the modes of vxconfigd operates
2. I just need to know what is the impact if vxconfigd is down for a
certain period of time,

Please help me or, Please direct me to any documentation on this.
