Weird problem with Solaris system

Dear managers,

we have a weird issue with a SF 280R running Solairs 10 11/06. The
machine proved to be stable as hell. However, every few weeks the
system simply seems dead for a couple of minutes. The Sun Rays loses
their connection, ssh connects fail, really nothing works anymore. This
time I made it to the serial console but even that was dead. I waited
and waited and waited and finally I was let it. The first thing I did
on the console was a prstat. I saw three to four nscd processes all
with 100% cpu usage!??? The cpu usage of these processes slowly went
down. Finally the processes were gone and the machine started to work
normally again!

I really appreciate the reliability of this machine and how seamless
things work again after these occurances (every few weeks), but I
nevertheless would love to what thi sis all about and how this can be
fixed/avoided.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Andreas
