I have also tried with an non root account as suggested by a couple of
members. I have also tried to force mount options in /etc/auto_master
The result is the same.
Tail of /etc/mnttab on client
/etc/auto_direct /sysadmin/audit/output autofs
rw,direct,ignore,dev=50c0011 1216824965
/etc/auto_direct /sysadmin/audit/bin autofs
rw,direct,ignore,dev=50c0012 1216824965
# pwd
/sysadmin
# ls -ltr
total 154
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root other 76768 May 30 08:27 manage.ksh
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Jul 7 16:33 scripts
dr-xr-xr-x 4 root root 512 Jul 23 15:56 audit
# cd audit
# ls -ltr
total 2
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root 1 Jul 23 15:56 output
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root 1 Jul 23 15:56 bin
# cd output
output: permission denied
# su - bb
bb@lonespdapp-p1$ id
uid=102(bb) gid=14(sysadmin)
$ cd /sysadmin/audit
$ cd output
ksh: output: permission denied
$ ls -l
total 2
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jul 23 15:56 bin
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jul 23 15:56 output
It seems that regardless of the mount point or share permissions
[including mount options] I am still unable to access these directories
using autofs.
Of note is that a NFS mount of these works just fine.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.

Subject: Solaris 10 autofs directory permissions
OS 5.10 Generic_127127-11
Simple client auto_master / auto_direct setup [OS 5.10
Generic_127127-11], see files below
/etc # cat auto_master
/- /etc/auto_direct
/etc # cat /etc/auto_direct
/sysadmin/audit/output -rw londeploy-p1:/sysadmin/audit/output
/sysadmin/audit/bin londeploy-p1:/sysadmin/audit/bin
Directories shared [on 5.9 Generic_117171-15] as:
# share -F nfs -o rw,anon=0 -d "Audit Home" /sysadmin/audit/output #
share -F nfs -o ro -d "Audit Home" /sysadmin/audit/bin
# AutoFS service [refreshed]
/etc # svcs | grep -i autofs
online 9:16:10 svc:/system/filesystem/autofs:default
PROBLEM
-----------
Automounted directories loose permissions once automounted
Before :
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 4608 Jul 22 10:22 output
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Jul 22 10:19 bin
After [IE After cd'ing into directory]:
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jul 22 09:29 output
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jul 22 09:29 bin
# cd output
bash: cd: output: Permission denied
# id
uid=0(root) gid=0(root)
Can anyone tell me why my directory permissions are changing and how to
make them persistant with automountd?
Thanks
