    Managers,

We currently run a very IO intensive application in our TRU64UNIX
TruCluster environment. To help combat this we are discussing using a RAM
disk. The application is Mailscanner running Sophos and SPAMASSASSIN. The
disk utilization is only 1 - 2 GB max which we have plenty of RAM in our
boxes. We currently deploy a fabric NSPOF HSG80 array SAN.

    1. Have many people have used RAM disks to solve IO bottlenecks?
    2. Have people experienced side effects or problems when using a RAM disk
    for an application?

    Thanks.
