Hi Managers,
SYS: Dec 3000, TRU64 V 4.0F.
I would like to update the version of perl on the above system.
Currently it is running version 5.0 of perl and I am finding it hard to
install other modules. The system currently uses perl for a number of
small but important tasks so I do not want to trash the current
version and fail to make the up-grade.
I am considering 2 ways to do this. Tar up the old /usr/lib/perl5 dir
and use the CPAN tarball to re-create perl from scratch. The other
method I am considering is to use the open-source CD from a TRU64
5.0 distribution and install from this. I like this 2nd method as I think
it would "fit" better into my O/S.
Has any one done something similar before? I would appreciate any
advice before I launch myself at this.
Thanx.
Dp.
