many thanks to all who replied to my question about long usernames.

    Resolution:
the utility 'sysman' has a security subsystem which allows you to turn
on Enhanced security and then you can change the limitations on username
    char-limit.

    Managers,

does true64 have problem with user names longer than 8 characters? the
8 or less character can login with no problem. any name longer than 8
cannot login and receives the following error:

    > ssh -l greghlongusername bl821k1
    greghlongusername@bl821k1's password:
    setlogin: Invalid argument
Connection to bl821k1 closed by remote host.
    Connection to bl821k1 closed.

is there a setting that I can change to allow long user names?
    any help appreciated.

    Susan James
