    Hello, admins,

thanks again to Alan Rollow, who gave me a short explanation
of what DMS does and how it might fit my needs. That's what
I then tried to do: setting up the DMS-server and booting
everything from over the net. First of all I had to upgrade
the Multia's SRM to the unofficial version I got at
    http://home.earthlink.net/~djesys/vms/hobbyist/multia.html.
Appearantly they grabbed it from an OpenVMS distro. Anyway,
with that firmware installed, I was able to remote-boot
Tru64 5.1B. Everything went fine, so far. I was able to
log in using XDM, but then the Multia just hung. I guess,
that was a bit too much for that little box. So my next
option will probably be, to plug in an additional 2.5-IDE
harddisk, try to install it via CD-ROM and cross my fingers
that it can stand that install procedure a bit better.

    Regards,

    Marc

    Hello, group,

I tried to install Tru64 5.1B onto an old Multia today,
but didn't succeed, since the SCSI-controller behaved
rather flaky. Now I was wondering, if it was possible
    to
    a) Install Tru64 (or parts thereof) onto an NFS-share,
since 340MB of HDD are not quite enough even for a
    minimal installation, and
    b) to set up a RIS-Server with the Hobbyist license?

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    I will summarize.

    Regards,

    Marc
