SUMMARY:
Starting NFS start portmappers too. Without portmappers CDE login hangs. You
must start portmappers. Some people disable the starting of NFS in /sbin/rc3.d but then create a separate start script for just the portmapper.
Aparently this topic has already been summarized in the archives.
Original post:
I would like to disable NFS as we don't need it but when i turned it off it i was not able to login at the console in graphical mode (CDE). It accepts my username and password but hangs when trying to start the CDE desktop.
Any ideas on why this is happening??
