    Thanks for Bjorn Nilssen and Pat O'Brien for their replies. Bjorn
    recognised the problem from the past but is now running dhcpd 3.0p12
    without problems. I couldn't resolve the problem here; some devices
    would never negotiate successfully with the 3.0 dhcp server on Tru64,
    so I reverted to dhcpd 2.0, which is running normally.
