    I am trying to find out how to change the message that shows up BEFORE the
    login prompt when you telnet into a machine. We want to make sure that the
    OS and machine type aren't displayed.

    And the answer is:
    Modify the /etc/gettydefs as specified at
    <http://www.ornl.gov/its/archives/mailing-lists/tru64-unix-managers/1995/06/
    msg00115.html>.
