We have seen several disk "failures" recently on 2 es40s and on a GS140
with an attached HSZ70-based ESA10000. Enmeshed in error logs at times
of disk failures on each system are one or more entries that say:
"Possible SCSI Bus I/O loading issue, device responses are exceedi"
(the rest is cut off in each case)
What is the likelihood that we really are exceeding bus capacity, vs.
this being an anomaly?
Configs:
ES40s - 4 internal Compaq universal 18GB or 36GB drives, mirrored, on
single bus.
GS140 - ESA10000 with 4 controllers per array, dual redundant, failing
disks (3, 1 recovered on reset) were in one half of array with 2
(redundant) controllers, disks are 9 or 36GB SBBs in mirrorsets.
I'm contemplating calling HP on each system, but am trying to gather
sys_checks and hoping to get a bit more input here first. Thanks!
