HSZ70 to HSG80 upgrade

            I'm planning on replacing a redundant pair of HSZ70s with
    HSG80s. I have a document (EK-HSG80-UP) that has a procedure for
    upgrading from HSOF version 7.1 on the HSZ70 to ACS version 8.3 on the
    HSG80. However, my HSG80 controllers have version 8.7 in them, and my
    HSZ70s have version 7.0. I do have the 7.7 upgrades for the HSZ70s, and I
    thought about first upgrading them to 7.7, then doing the HSG80 upgrade.

            Has anyone tried an upgrade path other than 7.1 - 8.3? Does
    anyone know if there is any reason why this may not work? Any suggestions
    or hints from previous experience would be great.
