We recently purchased a used XP1000 system that ran FreeBSD. I am now
attempting to install Tru64 UNIX 5.1A on this system and am having a
problem. The drive I'm attempting an install to is an IBM
DNES-318350W. The output of "show config" and "boot dqb0" from
5.1A/4.0E is given below. I have a few questions:
      1. Can I install 5.1A on the XP1000 using the onboard QLogic
         SCSI controller?
      2. What does the "init_rootdev: boot device translation failed"
error I received when booting 5.1A mean?
      3. If 5.1A cannot recognize a drive on the onboard QLogic
controller, what SCSI card should I buy that will work with
the 5.1A install cd? I tried an Adaptec 39160 card which
was recognized by the SRM firmware but still 5.1A would
         not boot.

What's odd is that the 4.0E install cd recognized the drive from the
onboard QLogic controller but the 5.1A install cd did not:
      rz1 at scsi0 target 1 lun 0 (LID=0) (IBM-PSG DNES-318350W !# SA30) (Wide16)

I have also tried the 5.1B and 5.1B-1 install CDs with the same
    results as 5.1A.
