    In the end the answer was with the Overland FCO
    (Fiber Channel Option) Fc <--> SCSI interface converter.

    The firmware required upgradeing to the latest version T523
    which is available from the Overland FTP site.

    Not out of the woods yet as I still have to obtain/create
    ddr.dbase entries for the HDS 9570V and HP LTO-2 devices,
    any offers?? It seems that Andrew Tolmie has a similar
    problem.
