Sendmail external email field

    We wish to configure sendmail on V5.1B to use a sender's email format of
    <host>.<user>@<domain> (eg. host1.user@domain.com) on emails that go
    external.

    We can configure it to use a format of <fully qualified
    hostname>.<name>@<domain> (eg. host1.domain.com.user@domain.com) but we
    cannot get rid of the domain from the hostname.

    Does anyone know how this can be achieved?
