To many names to mention all of them but thanks to everyone who responded the replies seem to be split between:

    # tcopy
    and
    # dd

it appears either will work and I am off to test both. Man page for tcopy looks pretty simple and should do the trick. I have used dd before for dup'ing a disk but should work the same for a tape.

Thanks again for all of the responses...

I need to duplicate a tape from one tape drive to another; same drive type, same media metrics so I need to read from one drive and write to the other such that the output tape is identical to the input tape. Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
