I received two helpful responses to this question.

Dr Tom Blinn checked with HP's expect on the emc fiber channel driver,
who suggested that "The emx driver generates this error message when it
detects a non-zero value in a reserved field of the FCP header. These
reserved fields must be zero according to the FC specification." They
had found similar issues with some other vendors storage firmware and
got them to fix it, so possibly the Jetstor has the same issue.

Raul Sossa Sossa informed me that several KGPSA-CA issues had been
targetted and resolved in updated support configuration:

    1) KGPSA-CA Firmware Revision 3.391A1 for Alpha.
    2) SRM Firmware Update from AlphaSystems Firmware 6.7 CDROM.
    2) Brocade SAN Switches Firmware Version 3.1.2.
    3) emxdriver version included in Tru64 UNIX 5.1B PK 4.

The first answer is certainly convincing as the root cause, but we also
installed PK4 for Tru64 5.1B over the weekend... and the messages are
    now gone.
