    Original Post:

"Is anyone using password shadowing under Tru64? I did some searches and
got the general impression that it is not available under 4.X but is under
5.X if some form of C2 is deployed. I'm wondering those assumptions are
correct and what might be involved to deploy it on a system that doesn't
    have it."

Thanks to Charlie Ballowe, Ann Majeske, Chris Wincentsen, & Steve
VanDevender for their replies, summarized below:

    1. Enhanced Security is available under both Tru64 4.X & 5.X.
    2. See the "Security Administration" guide for details on this (I've
    started!).
    3. 'Password shadowing' is one part of Enhanced Security (C2).
    4. Shadowing can be enabled by itself, instead of the full blown suite of C2
    features.
    5. Enabling shadowing by itself is easier under Tru64 5.X.

Thanks also to Dr. Thomas Blinn for a response to my update to the post,
"Does C2/Enhanced Security a License?" - his response:

"Enhanced Security is part of the base product, it requires no extra
    license. Never has, never will."

Thanks to all for the prompt replies.

    Mike
