SUMMARY: Alpha 1200 won't boot CD

            Thanks to the many people who responded to this one. I wasn't
    expecting so many replies. The original problem was that an Alpha 1200
    wouldn't boot from the 5.1A install CD. It kept halting during the OS load,
    or giving a kernel memory error.

            HP had said that the eisaconfig utility needed to be run. The
    hardware tech at the site said, no, they're all PCI and don't have eisa.
    Many of the replies that I got here told me that there was, in fact, in
    internal eisa bus, and, now that I look at the startup event from the log,
    there it is. I should have looked closer.

            We got another HW tech who ran eisaconfig and all is well.
