advice regarding cache batteries .
I reproduce his advice below :
If they are part of a production system, I don't mess
around. I
replace the
batteries. I have bought the individual batteries
(Hawker Energy
Products
X-Cells) and rebuilt the battery packs with new cells.
Running them until the batteries fail is risky and can
result in data
loss... Think about all the volumes on this array.
Yes, you can fool the controllers into thinking the
batteries are good.
Why
would you do it though?
