memory limit with ample RAM

    Hi folks,

    We've got a user with a model in Fortran code who is seeing
    a dramatic slowdown, by a factor of 100 at least, when he increases
    the computation grid size past some threshold size; evidently about
    2 GB. This is confusing to the user and me since this ES45 4x 1GHz
    has 12GB RAM and 24GB swap spread across 3 disks.

    What would you suggest I look for?
