Cronjob output file permissions

    I can't figure out where the umask for my cronjobs is set.
    in my .login and .profie I have umask = 077 (I'm in ksh)
    but my cronjob output all comes out like 022.
    even if I put 'umask 077' in the shell file running in cron, the resulting
    files still come out like 022.
    anybody have any ideas.
