    Hello gurus,

This message was sent on november 2004 if you look on the archives..
I've been out for a some days.. and while talking to Emanuele Lombardi
she sugested me another aproach to update my MSL5026 firmware upgrade:

    - -------------------------------
    Dear Alexandre,

may be I can help you now! I have just upgraded the MSL5026 frmware to
    the latest version 3.40 from

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?locale=en_US&lang=English+%28US%29
    \
    &pnameOID=329886&prodSeriesId=254837&prodTypeId=12169&basePartNum=COL3566&locBasepartNum=co-24446-1&os=Cross+OS&tech=Firmware

    the file is named NextGen_430.bin

The upgrade has been done in the following way:

    1) Download of the above NextGen_430.bin file to my PC
    2) FTP to the Library using its IP address
~ Anonymous ftp (I did without any password, but it should work with
    ~ any)
    3) binary put NextGen_430.bin to the /upload directory of the Library
    4) with a browser go to http://library.ip.address
    5) enter the Remote Management Interface of the library using the
    ~ level-2 password (deafult "2")
    6) "Manage this tape library"
    7) "functions"
    8) "library flash operation" selecting
~ "flash library from local file"
    9) select the name NextGen_430.bin
    - -----------------------------------

I'm stucked on step 2, I can't login usin ftp.. using anonymous with or
    without password the output is:

    ftp> open 10.0.1.53
    Connected to 10.0.1.53.
220 WEB TLC FTP SERVER READY TYPE HELP FOR HELP
    Name (10.0.1.53:alex): anonymous
331 User name okay, need password.
    Password:

ABOR421 Service not available, remote server timed out. Connection closed
    ftp: Login failed.
    ftp>

I tried to use passive and active modes without success too.. and
there's no firewall or any filters between me and the library.
I can access the library LCD display, use it and change
settings/passwords for levels 1, 2 and Service. I can see the web
interface but when I try to login I always get 'invalid password', the
    default 5566 does not work..

Sorry for this long message.. any tips?
    Thanks in advance!
