Managers, we're looking to add FibreChannel support to some
existing Alphas (DS20E's and ES40's) running Tru64 v5.1A (V5.1 1885
alpha).
We've installed the cards (DS-KGPSA-DA cards), can see them at
the >>> prompt (wwidmgr works nicely, etc). But when we boot our
machine into t64 with the cards patched into our switch, it "lip
storms" the switch, and the machine hangs. This seems to be a driver
issue. I believe the OS is seeing it (after a doconfig), since it logs
this on startup:
pr 19 15:28:51 shamrock vmunix: emx0 at pci1 slot 7
Apr 19 15:28:51 shamrock vmunix: emx0: Using console topology setting
of : Fabric
So, the long question is, what is needed to support these
controllers on 5.1A? I looked into NHD6, but that has nothing obvious
in its release notes about FC support. Any guidance is appreciated!
Thanks!
- Jeff
