SUMMARY: Problem with name service?

    Oups, I got the answers BEFORE I sent the mail;-) Thanks to Phil Boldwin and Bob Full. This list is incrediable.

    The difference between the 2 servers was /etc/svc.conf.

    I had to replace

    "hosts=local" by "hosts=local,bind,yp" and ping worked - without rebooting or restarting any service.
