Thanks to all who replied - every single advice was helpful. Special
thanks to
Alan Davis, Russ Schaefer, Benjamin Ingwersen and especially to Johan
brusche who supplied me with a compatibility list of controllers and disks.
Question answered, Problem not yet solved (I could not get the disks on
e-bay because the seller refused to deliver outside the U.S. :o\ )
But chances are good that things evolve.
Thanks all again!

Original question was:

Hello Admin Wizards,
can the DEC DS-RZ1CB-VW 4,3 GB / 7200 rpm/ Ultra Scsi be used with
either a storage Works SW 300 / HSZ40 cabinet and/or a DEC Alpha Server
1000/266 (the standalone model of 1995 with the 7 slot built in
raidshelf) respectively the 9.1GB DS-RZ1DD-VW StorageWorks modular disk
drive - would it work with the HSZ40 and/or the Mylex controller the old
alpha has built in?
