I have an single volume application that I will be taking business copies
through out the day and I was thinking of using freezefs and thawfs to flush
the buffer cache before I do the copy.

Will this work? The application is a flat filesystem database not an Oracle
type database. We would like to lock users out and than flush the cache
    before the business copy.

If this will work does anyone have a rough guess as to how long it may take
to flush a 250gig file system?

    Thanks,
