I am about to upgrade an old 5.1 box to 5.1A PK6 tomorrow
so I am doing some testing today on a 'decomissioned' DS20
This was on 5.1A already .
I have booted from the 5.1 CD install disk to create a 5.1 system , then I want to do a
    installupdate to 5.1A etc.
The problem I am having is the dreaded 'Init: Command is respawning too quickly - Check for possible errors"
"id: cons "/usr/sbin/getty console console vt100"
It seems that /sbin and /usr won't play.
I have rebooted back to single user , and the root partition is OK on dsk0a
but /usr and /var will not mount (on dsk0d and dsk0g)
Any quick pointers to sort this out?
    Would it be the firmware?
    Thanks

    Steven Frost
