SUMMARY: accounting error in 5.1b-3



The problem:

Es40,
Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.1B (Rev. 2650); Sun Mar 19 02:06:39 PST 2006

Over the weekend, I installed PK5 and ever since, I
have not been able to process my accounting files.
Accounting is running, but /usr/sbin/acct/runacct
fails.

The wtmperror0323 contains:
safe_open: Permission denied

Can anyone help me with this?



The solution:

This problem is being fixed in current release.
The workaround is to set the ownership of /var/adm/wtmp file to adm:adm.
