Tape Changer and SCU

Customer replaced the external scsi tape/changer with the same model and scsi ID and rebooted.

A "scu scan edt" (and "scu scan edt bus 2) does not find the tape drive so that I can create the device drivers, etc.

Will dn_setup to install the tape build the edt and update the hwmgr table?

Also, are there freeware tools available to utilize the changer? (I've only used commercial products in the past).
