Yep, with TCPIP 5.3, the DHCP server has the ability. You can give it the
equivalent of a template to use for a host name and it will dynamically
generate a host name which gets transmitted to the DNS server and will get
zapped once the lease expires.
I haven't tested static allocations to see if you can have a static host name
associated with a static IP address (associated to a MAC address), but I
supposed it would also be possible. (although in that case, while it may help
centralise management, I am not sure it would really be worth it.
